Our Organization

We are a group of neighbors and members of the Oak Park community who care passionately about our community and are commited to ensuring that all perspectives are represented and that the community as a whole benefits from the the proposed development of the 827-833 Madison project, as well as from future developments along the Madison street corridor.

Our Mission

Our mission is to safeguard the best interests of the local community and, in particular, to ensure that:

• The Madison Street Corridor Master Plan is applied consistently.
• The Board of Trustees identify and require compensating benefits proportionate to the zoning variances requested by developers
• Business viability is realistically and fully assessed for all mixed-use developments along the Madison Street Corridor.
• The effect of development on traffic and parking along Madison Street, Grove Avenue, and Carpenter Avenue is considered and addressed.
• The proposed project's impact on the look and character of the Madison corridor be considered within the context of other developments, both current and future, along the Madison corridor.
• Development improve rather than erode the quality and character of our community.
• The safety of our children, pets, and pedestrians on our streets be maintained.
• The community impact of the projects' height and density are considered and addressed.
